Best Fettuccine alfredo ! This place is fine dining with excellent service, our waitor would come every two minutes cleaning up and pouring us water. I recommend the cheese ravioli and for dessert the ice cream brownie delight. The people who dine in are very soical and love to have a good laugh and thats what i like about this place.

For a very small restaurant tucked away in the downriver area, Moro's excels in very category. Outstanding soups, salad tossed table-side, quality entrees followed by a fruit and nut basket. DH had the surf and turf (which he did not offer to share). I went with one of their traditional entrees and brought most of it home for a second meal. Remember that it is not your local Olive Garden so please leave the jean shorts and ball caps at home.

I don't know what to say to make this review helpful. Every morsel of food was great. Service was great. I don't want to sound repetitive but there was nothing I could complain about if I had to. Oh, OK, the prices are a little high but not for what you are getting. For some reason, I just went back there for the first time in about twenty years. I have no idea why I stayed away for that long but next time won't be that long. Don't want to sound like a commercial but if you like Italian fine dining, you really should try Moro's.

Had a Tuesday evening birthday. Overall very nice. Lobster tail a bit skimpy. All else including service was ecvellent.

Good food, and a very comfortable and sensual atmosphere, but the price you pay just does not add up in the end. Honestly i'd have to suggest that you pass on this Italian restaurant.

Had a perfect meal there. The staff is the best by far. Love going there. This was my wifes first time there and she said we will be back for sure. Get there early so u can be seated with out a wait.

Always a great meal in a quaint dark atmosphere. Soups are made from scratch daily. Great dishes here are veal and fettuccini Alfredo. They mIx the salad table side and also have table side flaming desserts (as well as flaming cheese oopa!) decent wine selection and excellent service. They don't accept reservations so be prepared to wait during peak dining times.

I love the idea of Moro's... a hidden gem in a small town with old school flair. Where else can you get cherries jubilee prepared tableside by a server in a tux Moro's is quant... and not just the vibe but in the actual space available in the restaurant. I am not sure how they squeezed as many tables into the venue as they did but it is quite a tight squeeze and generally pretty packed. They prepare a few dishes tableside, including their salad and a few desert options. I am not a fan of the salad although the presentation was adorable. I prefer salads with a higher quality green and I believe they used lettuce only. It was tasty, though, just not top-notch. I wasn't feeling too hungry on this trip so I ordered a pasta dish that was large and extremely tasty! My dinner buddy got their steak and raved about it! We didn't leave room for desert but got to sneak a peak at the preparation from the tables around us! Its such a throw back and so glamorous, definitely a highlight of the dinner. Finally, our waiter brought out a compliment "dessert" or fruits and nuts. AMAZING! So simple, yet really cute way to end our meal. I will be back!

Best dining experience I have ever had!! The Moro's experience is definitely a force to be reckoned with. The front line definitely knew what they were doing. It seems they want you to be blasted back to the past when you walk into this restaurant. Sure its seen better days, but the service has kept on keeping on ever since. Its more of how the three course meal is served and suppose to be served properly. The boys in the penguin suit is indicative of this long forgotten art of dining. If you're expecting a diner type experience, then you've come to the wrong place my friend. This is where you come through, sit down and share a real meal with your family. This place is the very definition of breaking bread. Best Italian I ever had? Nope, not really,,, it's not bad either... It actually leans over to the good side way over. I would eat their food again and again. Yes it's that good. But it's not overwhelmingly good. 4 stars is well deserving due to their awesome front line personell and service. This is truly what Italian family dining is all about. Follow me on Instagram @rodtorres3

I will definitely be back to try the spaghetti! If their sauce is delicious I may have to change my rating to a 5... but for now we will go with a 4-4.5 I dined there on a Monday evening for the first time and had no trouble getting a table. The place is much smaller from what I had pictured, but it was small, dark and quaint. The dress was pretty casual and they had a steady flow of diners. We were seated promptly and greeted by a server. He asked what we would like to drink. I honestly wasn't sure if they had a liquor license and the server never gave us a wine menu, which I thought was strange for an Italian restaurant. I noticed a woman across from me had a glass of red, so I went ahead and asked if they had a cab, which the server named off 3 different ones, I then asked if he had a glass of Pinot Noir, which isn't all that common if the restaurant just has the basics. I was happy that they had it available and I went ahead and ordered it. Not sure the label, but the wine was smooth. After the server came back with our wine, he read off the specials and took our order. I ordered the Beef Marsala and my friend ordered the Beef (Tournedos) Rossini. We both ordered our meat medium-well. The entrees come with a salad which is made table side and is delicious. They add chickpeas and egg to the salad and the dressing is light, but flavorful, almost creamy. The entrees also come with a cup of soup. I had the minestrone which was perfect.By far the best minestrone I've had. When our entrees were served they came with potato and green beans. I was a little disappointed they didn't have a side of spaghetti instead, but I guess that just means I need to go back to try that. My dish was so flavorful. The Marsala gravy was delectable, I ended up dipping by green beans in the gravy because it was so tasty. The meat was cooked just right for me and didn't have a fatty piece on it. My portion was very large, especially considering I just had soup and salad. My friend's meat was cooked more on the medium to medium-rare side, but he said it still tasted great and there was no need to send it back. Unfortunately, we were too stuffed to try dessert, but it was great taking leftovers home for the following day. AS we waited for the check they came out with a bowl of fruit and nuts. Very different from other Italian restaurants I've been to, but I like the added touch. Overall great service, cool old school restaurant ambiance, tasty food, it just may be Allen Park's hidden gem.

Dear fellow Yelpers, Allow me to repeat the exact same thing that everyone has already said...this place is worth a visit for sure if you live in the area. If you are not in the area but are a die hard old school Italian fan, have at it. Food: The presentation was wonderful. I would love to meet the staff who are responsible for plating. Kudos to you. The portions were substantial..from your salad to your main course. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Ambiance: It's an old school feel, which is why I gave the place only 4 stars... I do prefer a trendy and modern atmosphere...but that is not what they are going for so I understand. Personally, I think an updated decor can still be accomplished while going with their authentic theme. Service: The service was very attentive and proactive. You could see staff just walking around (non-intrusively) checking out tables to see if you needed water/drink refills...and perfecting their timing of when they came to check on you. I could tell that our waiter, Marco, who has been there forever he says, could tell when it was the appropriate time to check on us, to offer another item, etc. Shout out to Marco! You wear the tux, the tux doesn't wear you and you are a true leader in fine dining service. (oh yeah all the waiters wear tuxedos) Notes: The flaming desserts are a super fun presentation to watch, and if you don't eat here all the time, then go for it...and make your meal special! There are actually some cool things to do within walking distance of this restaurant (most notably a movie theater) so make an evening of it! Lastly, we got lucky with parking, but be prepared to not get so lucky...although, the minor walk isn't bad with warm weather, and if someone does need to be dropped off at the door, that's an easy option. Bon appetit!

Vintage Italian - To be experienced! Wow, what an awesome place. This is truly a dining experience. Moro's is an authentic Italian restaurant. Everything is fresh and home made. The food is fabulous. I had the lentil soup to start and then the cannelloni stuffed with beef and veal sausage. It was terrific. On top of the excellent food, you have a restaurant with professional waiters with real 60s decor. They have some real nice touches. For examples, salads are made table side. After dinner, they bring you a complimentary bowl of fruit and walnuts. Definitely hoping that I have another business trip to Detroit so that I can eat Moro's again.

Ambience - This place has that old mobster feel. The kind of place Frank Sinatra and the Rat pack would dine at. Service - Wait staff is always top notch. They always are in tuxes even during lunch hours and how they remember all the daily specials I don't know. To top it off they have many table side preparations they pull off that takes the meal to a compiler new level. Food/Drinks - It doesn't get much better then Moro's when it comes to eats. I always like to try new things but if they have any of the stuffed Cannoli (the "signature dish") I just can't resist. Overall - One of my top 5 places to eat when I'm home. Also a great place to meet for lunch. Smaller portions with the same incredible experience.

Hands down, the best restaurant in Metro Detroit. Mark and Bubba will treat you like a king, even if you're just a serf like me. Every time I go to eat here, I remember how much this place feels like home. I would recommend to anyone! Thanks for always being the best Moro's...

This is one of our Top 3 choices when it comes to picking a place for a nice date (the kind where you'd get a babysitter, then get dressed up nicely for). Technically Moro's doesn't have a dress code, but I feel weird going into the restaurant in shorts and tee shirt. It has THE BEST fettuccine alfredo. Allow me to say it one more time, THE BEST fettuccine alfredo. The noodles are al dente, the sauce is deliciously full of cream and cheese. The best thing about it is that the dish gets put under the broiler for a little bit so there's a thin layer of cheese crust you get to break through to get to the noodles. Ordering an entree will leave you enough for a huge lunch for the next day. Another well known section on Moro's menu is the table side flambe desserts. It has been voted as Top 5 flambe desserts in the country by the Food Network. My favorite is the Bananas Foster, served ala mode, and with a piece of angel food cake. Not only is the dessert delicious, the process of making it is also a show. The server will craftfully cut off the orange peel in a spiral and cook it with the bananas for awhile. Then he pours some alcohol on the peel, picks the peel up with a fork, and lights it on fire. The alcohol and the oils in the peel carries the blue flame from the top of the peel down the spiral to the bottom of the peel. How cool is that?

A bold statement: Moro's is the pinnacle of traditional Italian dining in Southeast Michigan. There are places that are more experimental. There are places with more exciting menus, and those that are more authentic. If you want the best classic "American Italian" food within 5 hours' drive, go to Moro's. Try their veal and their fettuccine alfredo; their tableside salads and desserts will stick in your mind for years. Of all the restaurants I've tried in the state, this would be in my top 5 of places everyone else should experience!

A+ Markel my waiter was phenomenal. They do all the little things, pads of pre-cut butter, a bowl of fresh parmesiano with a spoon at your table, white linen table cloths, the waiter wears a tux, the buss boys wear a white jacket and a skinny tie. They toss a fresh salad table side, and at the end, they deliver a bowl of apples (green & red), oranges, and wall nuts. My Italian grandparents died 30+ years ago, they had this same tradition...which I vaguely recalled when they dropped the bowl off at my table, it was a sign! This place has old school class and charm. Saturday always has a wait, but when I went on Sunday, I had no problem. Treat yourself to a diamond in the rough.

If Moro's was located in Birmingham, it would be nationally recognized as one of the finest restaurants in the Detroit area. Celebs, Rock Stars and famous athletes would be in-line nightly. But don't let the fact that it reside in a store front in Allen Park deter you. Moro's is one of the finest dining experiences in the Detroit area and also one of our best kept secrets. The food is traditional Italian with some interesting twists. I've had Shrimp Scampi, Linguine Fruti de Mare and Veal Marsala and all three were outstanding and memorable. My last trip I tried one of those interesting twists... a Hungarian dish called Veal Paprikash. Chunks of tender veal on a bed of Linguine in a Hungarian sauce. OMG was it GREAT! The service at Moro's is superbly tuxedoed, precise, friendly and never boorish. The flaming table-side desserts are a must. Flaming Bananas Foster is great, but the Flaming Macedonian is an unique dessert experience to be seen, felt and tasted. Simply put... This is the restaurant Birmingham wishes it had.

I think the reviews here really got me pumped for my visit to Moro's. The husband and I were celebrating and decided on a fancy dinner. We put on our finest evening wear and headed to Moro's. The place is much smaller than I imagined! Our waiter hurried to our table and never introduced himself, never asked if we were celebrating an occasion with them. He handed us menus while looking toward the kitchen and rushed away as we looked over the goods. I immediately dreaded our dinner, as the service was not living up to what we expected. Our waiter was apparently not interested in serving us and he acted this way for the rest of the night. We ordered a bottle of Moscato, which we never do at restaurants. I don't recall the price, maybe $20+? Either way, by the end of the bottle, neither Jacob or myself felt the slightest buzz... we inspected the bottle and it was 4.5% alcohol. Really? Selling this juice at a fine dining establishment? Barefoot wine gets me loaded. This crap was a waste of money. The waiter came to the table to prepare the salad and he did so without saying a word to us and it was prepared about 30 seconds later. No flair, no pizazz, no smile. He rushed through what Moro's considers their trademark. Jake and I enjoyed our entrees, but decided we'd probably not visit Moro's again. We both found it extremely cramped (even more so because there was a party of 8 obnoxious drunk people next to us) and the prices a bit much for lackluster service. Maybe it was a bad night? I'm not spending another $100 to find out if this visit was a fluke. Moro's is the type of place you visit for an experience, not just the food. The service and experience was not worth the hefty bill. And we were downright offended at the cheap wine they passed us.

The ambience, quality of the food and wine were definitely not worth the $300 bill for 5 people.

I had dinner here last night with some associates and it was our first time. The whole vibe from A-to-Z was old-school Italian. The food was average may be above average C+ B- at best but the service was exceptional and that's why when I'm on that side of town I will probably give the food another shot. The server was on point and he made the experience above-average. Thanks Rick!

A real Downriver diamond. This is about as nostalgic 1950s/60s as you can get. For instance they serve Veal Oscar and provide table side service for salads, Cherry Jubilees, and Banana Fosters. The waiters are very charming and entertaining. The food is great - super large portions for the price. I couldn't even breathe by the time we left because I consumed so much. Definitely a must for anyone who likes old world Italian American dishes.

Six of us from 3 generations went to Moros for dinner on a Friday night. I liked it the minute I walked in. Décor is nice, the service was terrific. The salad was good as well as the minestrone soup. Decent bread. I ordered chicken breast with cream sauce and all the others ordered pasta dishes. Food was served promptly, the portions were large and hot. Then we were all in for somewhat of a disappointment. The entrees were bland. Bland, bland, bland. The chicken was tender but had virtually no flavor at all. The cream sauce must have been cream with some flour blended in to thicken it. No flavor at all. I don't think they even put any salt or pepper in it. Let alone some garlic, herbs, butter or olive oil. I would like to have tried other menu items because there may be other dishes that have more flavor. But I got the impression these dishes were intended to be bland and that's what the people who go here like. I can see how people might like this place. Its the kind of place you want to like because the people seem very nice and they do a great job. If the prices were half of what they were I would have given it 4 stars and would try some other items in hopes of finding something with more flavor. The food wasn't bad, it was just bland.

Table side tossed salad was very tasty! Cannelloni topped with 2 delightful sauces was wonderful! My waiter was perfect, the perfect balance of friendly and attentive. I buy gift cards for this place because I want to share the experience with others.

I wanted to love this place. I wanted my fiance to love this place. We went to Moro's to celebrate our anniversary. My fiance is somewhat picky, loves Italian food, and has lived Downriver all his life, but had never been here. I was SURE I was going to wow him. I was wrong. We were both underwhelmed. I was really underwhelmed. I'm vegetarian, so my choices were limited. Usually Italian is a safe choice, even for a vegetarian, but, surprisingly, my choices were limited to spaghetti with marinara or fettucini alfredo. Ok, that's fine, I love a good marinara and I can certainly be won over by a decadent, delicious alfredo sauce. Since it was a special occasion, i went with the fettucine alfredo. The fact that it costs more than 16 dollars is just plain ridiculous, but that's besides the point. The fact that it just didn't taste good, though? That's a problem. Pros: Huge portions Very tasty salad Cons: The house lambrusco (served by the glass only - I wonder why?) is Riunite Lambrusco. Really? This is fine dining? The prices are ridiculous. The service was not so stellar that I could look past the prices. I'm more than willing to pay the price for fantastic food and service. I'm not, however, willing to pay fine dining prices for a sub-Olive Garden experience.

I love this place. A friend recommended that we eat here, and we have been about 6 times now. The one thing I dont like about this place is that is does not take reservations. Anyway, great and authentic food. Friendly service. Really small, intimate place. Great for dates and romantic evenings out.

Moro's is a blast from the past. If they had a counter up front selling cigars and cigarettes it would be just like the places i remember going as a kid in Detroit with my parents. That said, I highly recommend trying Moro's. The food is really good (just shy of great IMO) .... and really big. I had cannelloni which I almost couldn't finish. My wife had veal. They were both good, not the best, but really good. They won't win an award for subtle preparation or presentation. They both were covered in a cheese that was melted so hot that it was indistinguishable from the red "sauce". On Sunday, they brought out some complimentary fried zucchini slices that were SPECTACULAR. Light, perfectly crisp. The old school charm is this: - superb service by tuxedo wearing waiters - lots of table side prep including the generic salad that comes with most dinners. Some entrees and deserts were also prepared table-side. - shrimp cocktail app. - classic preparations galore (8 different(?) veal dishes) Everyone working at Moro's seemed happy to be there and they were good at what they did. Attentive and understated service. They don't take reservations and the wait on Saturday was over an hour when we called, so we went on Sunday. Dinner for two (without alcohol or desert) was about $40 which included soup, salad and entree (and zucchini). They had at least 4 soups. They bring out a plate of fruit and walnuts after dinner. I need to go back and order something smaller so that I can order the the Banana Tropicale desert.

My favorite Michigan restaurant ever! I've been eating here for 25+ years and it's been consistently wonderful every time. The veal is amazing! Try the veal olympia prepared table side. Favorite dish! The minestrone soup is yummy as is the house salad. Save room for the dessert! Bananas foster prepared table side is the best. If you like something less sweet try the cherries jubilee. Service is always perfect! Only negative is the restrooms. Very small but clean.

I came here with a friend yesterday and both of us were completely unimpressed. We got saganaki as an appetizer which was pretty standard, except it didn't come with any pita bread. Hmm. The waiter told us to use the giant loaf of bread they brought earlier. Hmm. I ordered the house-made ravioli which was on special and my friend ordered the spaghetti. These are two dishes that any good Italian restaurant should have mastered, right? WRONG My ravioli was ok, but it tasted like something out of a freezer bag with canned tomato sauce poured on top. And this was on special? My friend tried it and she expressed the same sentiments. She ate about 1/6th of her spaghetti because she disliked it so much. Mind you, the waiter actually RECOMMENDED the spaghetti and said it was one of his favorites. No, no, no, and NO. I tried hers and felt the same way she did. The noodles were overcooked, the tomato sauce (once again) tasted like it was out of a can. The plate was also overflowing and both of our dishes looked like they were straight out of a cafeteria line. The house salad that accompanied my meal was also terrible. Our waiter made it tableside and the lettuce was STILL soggy. I don't even know how that's possible. Not kind of soggy...I'm talking every single piece of lettuce was soggy. There was one grape tomato in my salad and a few tiny pieces of egg. SO DISAPPOINTING. I was really looking forward to coming to this place because several people recommended it. I just moved downriver and wanted to find at least ONE great restaurant. Unfortunately, I haven't found one yet. I have traveled all over the world and tried hundreds of restaurants. This restaurant makes chain restaurants like Papa Vino's and Carino's look like five stars. Trust me....skip it and save your money because this place is not even remotely worth it. I was actually mind blown. I pictured the cooks in the back laughing because they just pulled some CISCO ravioli out of the freezer and thought it was funny how people were raving about the food. To be fair, I didn't try the veal, but when an Italian restaurant can't even master two basic dishes I have absolutely no desire to ever go back. The saganaki was the best item at this ITALIAN restaurant. Go figure. MIND BLOWN....so disappointing

GO HERE. Easily one of the best downriver restaurants.... not many higher end places to pick from.... Table side salad is amazing and you don't want to miss it. Soups are great... minestrone, clam chowder, swiss onion.... difficult to pick. Known for their veal dishes.... my favorite is the veal trestina. Veal sauteed in a lemony sauce with little artichoke hearts, scalloped potatoes and garlicky green beans on the side. Other notable dishes are their canneloni (always on special) and the tenderloin special in the brown sauce. Another nice item is the shrimp scampi, almost always on special. Tableside desserts are really great and fun to watch. This is a slightly old fashioned restaurant in many ways, but the service is top notch, with waiters in tuxedos, and the food is never bad... always have a great time here. No reservations, walk ins only. Sometimes you can wait up to an hour... call first and see how long the wait is, because while you can sit in front area with a drink, they have no bar that you can actually sit at... a little uncomfortable when they are busy.

  • Toni C.

One of the best fine dining experiences I've ever had. It's so cozy in there and the service is impeccable. If they have the shrimp scampi there (it's the special sometimes) get it! The shrimp are HUGE and covered in garlicky buttery deliciousness. The presentation of cherries jubilee or banana's foster for dessert is very cool. I've you've never been to Moro's and you live in the area you should make it a point to check it out sometime. It's a good spot for special occasions.

My birthday month continued with our first trip to Moro's. We called ahead for directions, parking, dress code, busy-ness level: easy to find on the southeast corner of Southfield and Allen Roads (but construction made it a bit messy), ample, free parking in front of the place, 'casual' (which is a telling state of affairs for our country when the place serves $40 specialties prepared at table), and 'not busy'. Well everyone must have converged on the place after I hung up because when we arrive, 30 minutes later, there's a wait. We ended up waiting over 30 minutes... but the place is tiny... so, fine. $3.50 talls (not boombas) of Molson or Peroni. $5.50 dirty martinis... with anchovy stuffed olives! My first time with fish inside my olive, and I liked. The bread was alright. A large loaf, not warm at all, served with softened pats of butter. For not loving the bread, we still managed to need a 2nd basket. Good thing too - see 'sopping' later. Started with the Antipasto platter for two. Huge! The platter contained at least 20 Kalamata olives, 12 large Sicilian green olives, 15 pepperoncinis, 1c of marinated beef, 1c marinated mushrooms, 1/2c+ feta cheese, two hulking shrimp served nosed into a silver cup of cocktail sauce... and came with a side plate containing 4 slices of salami and a crumble of some sharper cheese. $15. We brought home half, which will be a great nosh plate while watching football. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi from the specials menu. I notice it is mentioned in other reviews (hi Liz W, again...and hey Rodger, we agree this time!), so it must be a frequent special. Delish!! Eight of the largest shrimp I have ever seen, each easily cut in to four pieces, showered in fresh slivered garlic and bathed in a decendant (but not super rich) butter sauce. Squirt a big juicy lemon wedge over top, and it is perfection. The firm, meaty consistency of the shrimp almost reminded me of Alaskan crab leg (not snow) or lobster. I finished 2.5. Ken had 0.5. The rest went in to the to go box with the sides, sliced potato and garlicky green beans. Ken is a veal fan so he was in heaven (Moro's menu leans heavily toward veal, but the waiter told me they would do any of the veal dishes subbing chicken, for me - nice). He ended up with Veal Columbo, breaded veal cutlets, bathed in Palomino sauce (tomato sauce mixed with cream and cheese), then covered in more cheese and baked. This sauce was awesome, and no drop went to waste as we dragged bread through it, sopping up all the goodness. He also brought home half of his meal, with sides too. We couldn't find room for dessert, even after viewing the show at other tables of flambeed fruit, but we did crack a couple walnuts and slice up a Granny Smith apple to share out of the wooden bowl that arrived at our table after our plates had been cleared. Fun. Expensive ($100 before tip), but not if you remind yourself that the food and service are excellent, and you have a decent amount of delicious leftovers. We'd go to Moro's again.

Came here with my friend, he's the king of the hidden gem lol. I typically don't eat heavy Italian food, it never leaves me feeling healthy. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Moro's. I had a salad that was very fresh, the dressing was excellent. Their olives are outstanding. As for the entree- Veal Olympic, also done right. Flavorful and perfectly seasoned. Cooking tableside is a little outdated, reminds me of the 90's. I was unable to finish my meal as they do not skimp on portion sizes, but for those of you seeking a good value to food ratio, this should be a plus. I can't say I'll come this far on a regular basis, but I enjoyed the food and stellar service. I'll be back next tme I want to put on a few pounds.

First the gripes. On a Saturday night, the service was slow: we arrived at 8:00 PM and still had nothing in front of us except bread and our drinks at 9:30. That meant an hour-and-a-half of being bumped by the waitstaff as they rushed up and down the cramped aisles in this tiny eatery. And am I the only diner who can do without the "gracious" tableside preparation of salads and flaming desserts? The fun wears very thin after the first couple of Cherries Jubilees burst into flames a foot from my face. That said, I have to confess that the food is so good it makes it all worth it. In fact, the Veal Columbo alone made it all worth it. It is one of those dishes you can recommend to your non-vegetarian friends without the slightest fear that they'll be disappointed. Absolutely wonderful. The gnocchi was, well, gnocchi, but the pesto was outstanding. For the romantically inclined, there is the Chateaubriand (prepared tableside, natch). The Beef Marsala and the Veal Marsala were both excellent. Moro's is not for everyone - there isn't room enough for everyone - but they are definitely worth a try.

I will gush while writing this review. I will probably drool too. I still have leftovers and I already want to go back. Moro's is the definition of old school. Sinatra on the sound system, food made tableside and a vaguely seventies chic going on. The waiters are in tuxes and the vibe is nostalgic. They bring an excellent loaf of sesame topped bread as soon as you arrive, a loaf so large you will not need seconds. This from a woman who has never not gotten seconds on bread. This is no skinny or half loaf, this is a loaf of freaking bread people. We debated starters. James was torn between entrees so we asked if we could do scampi as an app. No problem was the quick response. How many? Errr what is the standard? Eight. Ok eight will do. The shrimp are holy huge, eight was way too many but we suffered in garlic tinged bliss. The scampi is done with slivers of perfectly cooked garlic, butter and lemon, simple right but truly amazing. The size of the shrimp lends itself to an almost lobster tail texture but the flavor is true shrimp, all curled up and meaty, as kissable as a baby's fist. Sauce is addictively dippable with the tasty bread. This is followed by a salad created tableside. Hardboiled egg, garbanzo beans, grape tomatoes and standard type lettuce. A little salt, pepper, red vinegar and oil and a steady toss. Fresh ground pepper and a little parmesan added and it is utterly delicious. My ranch only husband even enjoyed it. They had five soups to pick from. We both went Italian specialty. James chose minestrone, I went with pasta fagioli. For once I win, mine was better but he claimed his was at any rate. Liar. Mine was studded with slices of sausage, had a thick broth and was chock full of veggieliciousness (it's not a word but so what). Yep at this point we are stuffed. Soon enough here comes a true slab of meat. The NY strip was done exactly to order, was easily cut and melted in your mouth like warm butter. The au jus had been turned into a rich yet light gravy and added to the party that happened in your mouth as you ate it. They served it with a side plate of lightly seared potato and some herbed green beans, both dragged gently through the gravy and gobbled happily. Yeah nothing else could fit on the plate with that roast sized steak to be honest. The strip could serve three in a pinch, two generously, my big eater husband barely ate half. The veal Oscar was so tender, the sauce was buttery, laden with egg yolk and had a slightly tart lemony finish. The asparagus and broccoli were perfect sides and were transformed into magic with the sauce. Topping the plate was a whole leg of steamed fresh Alaskan king crab. Heavenly yet sinful too, this may be the meal they tease you with in purgatory... For the record I am not a veal person, it makes me feel a bit bad to eat it but when in a good Italian place like Moro's it is often the best thing going. Frankly at Moro's I think you cannot go too wrong at all but the veal is damned excellent at any rate, well worth any guilt for sure. I had to take the leap. I took half my veal home too. Servings are that big. Dessert is a must and yet we failed. We could not make it to the land of flambe delight. The will was there but we were weak, yes we feel an appropriate level of shame about this. The upside is now we have to go back. We did crack a few gratis walnuts and nibbled on some sliced green apple. Feeding each other felt romantic and hey I like nuts, what can I say? Spendy yes. The way we ate it was spendy. We ordered two of the most expensive entrees and an entree priced app. It was our anniversary of meeting eight years back, plus we combo-ed that special occasion with an early Valentine's Day celebration so we did not pay much heed to prices. We got what we wanted because it was a time to splurge. Prices are more than fair for what you get though, cheap even. Soup and salad included, endless bread and huge portions. You get a lot for the buck, I do not begrudge them a cent. I think it is fabulous value and would pay more. Yes, my cheap ass would pay more! The service was lovely, we had a personable and attentive waiter who added rather than detracting from our experience. No missteps anywhere though, kitchen or front of house. Just enjoyment, this place has it together. Speed was perfect, not too poky but it never felt rushed at all either. I will indeed be back and I hope I will be taking my parents at some point as well when my mother recovers. This place will take them back via the wayback machine which will be nice to see. Mmmmm I am stuffed.

This is the best old school traditional Italian restaraunt in Detroit. I come from a traditional italian family and we grew up with fancy meals like this prepared by my mother and grandmother. The antipasto tray, the tossed oil/vinegar salad, and the fruit/nut bowl after dinner are straight out of my childhood. The entrees that are most memorable are the Shrimp Scampi and Veal Oscar. The shrimp are huge, yet perfectly cooked, and the veal always fresh and tender. The tableside flaming deserts, Macedonian, Bananas Foster, and Cherries Jubilee are artfully prepared and delicious. Finally, the tuxedo wearing waitstaff is very attentive and accomidating. You can even go there for a 1 hour business lunch if you alert the staff when you arrive. I am drooling while writing this... Must go Must go Must go.

The Shrimp Scampi at Moros's is absolutely wonderful - 1lb of huge delicious shrimp...I'm drooling just thinking about it! The tableside salad is wonderful as well. I am a stickler for service, and your glass will never get empty during your fvisit(5 stars!!). It would be absolutely perfect if they were non-smoking, (there's always hope), but if you go for an early seating or as soon as they open, it's not too bad.

This place is the true definition of a ma and pop restaurant. The people that took me here have been coming for the last 20 years and Mark has been their waiter everytime. Mark was one of the best waiters I have ever had. We got salads, clam chowder, and rolls which were all very good. I ordered the cannelloni because the menu looked way to good to decide so I took marks choice. It was out of this world. I tried to Shrimp Scampi, and lobster and prime rib which was excellent. We topped it all of with a Banana Fosters home made at the table which was one of the best desserts I have ever had and Mark made it a work of art. Im definitely coming back here!!!

The best. This is a "last meal on Earth"-type restaurant. The first thing you'll notice when you enter the nondescript restaurant is the atmosphere. It's a dimmly-lit,classy throwback to the type of Italian restaurant you'd expect out of a Coppola film. The waitstaff is impeccable. They are often the best-dress people in the joint (Don't be surprised to see a classy Allen Park couple rocking college athletic apparel, shorts and New Balance shoes while you dine. You know who you are.) and they are there to serve the patrons. Once on a family outing my grandmother spilled her water and the waitstaff could not have been more polite, attentive, understanding and quick to react to the mess had it happened to their own grandmother. It was the kind of incident that made an impression on my family, which my father brings up to this day. I cannot stress enough about how good the service is, so in effort to scale back my often lengthy reviews I will move onto the food. Being a traditional Italian restaurant there are two things you should expect going in: 1) numerous courses and 2) ridiculous portions. Try your best to ignore the fresh Italian bread that comes with every meal. While tasty, it will take up precious stomach real estate. But then again maybe leftovers are your thing... Salads are prepared at your table and are as fresh as you could expect anywhere. The soups are one of the high points of the meal every time I go to Moro's. Do yourself a favor and order the Swiss onion if it's available. It's a creamier take on the French onion and comes loaded with fresh made garlic croutons. Veal is their specialty at Moro's. The highlight for me being the Veal Columbo. There is no desciption on the menu, instead I believe it only says "simply exquisite", which I feel is an apt assessment. Breaded and fried veal cutlets are covered in a tomato-cream sauce with fresh mozzarella broiled over top. One thing I urge you to order would be their garlic cheese bread. It's not your normal take on garlic cheese bread, as they uses ample amounts of grated Parmesan instead of melted cheese. A less-greasy, unique spin on something as simple cheese bread that pairs perfectly with your soup. Another nod to the servers for their cherries jubilee table-side show. Perfect way to cap off a great date night. Moro's FTW!

Moro's is one of downriver's best hidden gems. Everything about this place is amazing! Delicious food, traditional Italian-style meals (several courses) and wonderful service. Don't be fooled by the outside of the building, inside the atmosphere is high class and intimate. They don't take reservations as their seating is limited due to the size of the restaurant, but it's worth the wait! For a recent college grad a meal here isn't in always in my regular budget, but my boyfriend and I save up and look forward to dining here for every special occasion we can! And the flambéed desserts are a must-have!

I love Italian Food, especially old school Italian food. This place is worth the trip and the food is like you used to get in Downtown Detroit in the old days when restaurants had there special dish or where had that great memory. Well this is that place and you get fresh homemade food to order. Do you remember Mario's in the day well this is same and better, but a little tip they do not take reservations so be prepared to wait for this amazing place. I had the Veal Parma and all I can say in OMG.... fresh veal lightly breaded with a home made sauce to die for. If you are Salad Person the Chopped Salad is amazing a served table side and all the waiters wear Tuxedo Shirts and take of you like a super star.. Go there it is worth the trip... I getting hungry just talking about it..

One of my favorite restaurants downriver. From the salads to the flamming deserts you cannot go wrong here. If your in a hurry, you should let them know because they serve in the romantic European style. Been going here for years and have never had a complaint. It's a small restaurant and I've always wondered why they never expanded because many will wait an hour inside and out. I guess success is success and they have been around for decades and people still wait to get in. Great food, great service.

Found the place from Yelp during a visit to Dearborn and we had a fun dining experience. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Sadly, no room for dessert. We ordered the eggplant special and the chicken tetrazzini. My eggplant was just right and came with a side of penne rigate with a zesty marinara. Her tetrazzini was very rich and delicious - and it was enough for three meals. Before the entrees the waiter gave us bread and butter then later tossed and dressed the salad at the table. Waiters there were part-server and part-showman as they made salads and desserts (eg bananas foster) at the table. Despite being busy they managed to be attentive and were well supported by bus staff - it's a well run place. Our waiter fixed the collar of an elderly gentleman who was preparing to leave. Call me old fashioned, but I loved that touch of class. If I'm in Dearborn again, I will seek out this restaurant. Highly recommended.

It was an excellent dining experience overall. Very cozy atmosphere is suitable for both a private date night or a family dinner. The host/server was very prompt, and the busboy never let our glasses run dry. The food was remarkable. The portions are extraordinary, making the prices very reasonable. My wife ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo and loved the creaminess of the sauce. I ordered spaghetti and mushrooms and could not have enjoyed it more. On top of all that, the bread was soft and plentiful; the salad (tossed at your table with vinegar & oil) was impressive; and they give you fruit and nuts to cleanse your palate after your meal. It truly was a great dining experience.

We dined at Moro on March 12, and it was a wonderful experience! Prior to joining Yelp I'd not heard a peep about Moro - but after reading some promising reviews I knew I HAD to visit. This is old-school dining at it's finest: lots of retro dishes on the menu, served up with tons of charm (so don't expect anything avant-garde or fusiony). The 8 of us arrived at Moro from Ann Arbor around 7 p.m. I had read on the website that they do not take reservations, but I guess this isn't exactly true - larger groups can do a "call ahead" for seating. Either way, we were promptly seated. Our server was a delightful man who'd been working at Moro for 25 years - and it showed. He was practically psychic in guessing what we needed. For soup we were split between clam chowder, swiss onion, and the minestrone. The chowder was fantastic, lots of clams, rich, satisfying, my husband loved the minestrone - practically licking the bowl clean, and the rest of the table had the swiss onion...which after trying it, was the best onion soup I've ever had...hands down. Salad was composed tableside, and was a nice blend of butter and romaine lettuce, chickpeas, tomato, egg, and oil/vinegar. Mmmm. Here's what was ordered by the group: - Spaghetti and Meatballs: the sauce was a long, slow-cooked tomato sauce redolent of browned-butter, onion, and basil. Fantastic. Meatballs were herby and delicate. - Veal Casalinga: Veal with proscuitto, herbs, tomato, butter. All dishes came with these savory garlic-parmesan broad beans and a glazed potato. I loved the beans, but later wished I'd have ordered a pasta side instead of the potato. - "House" Veal: Tableside presentation. Two sauces, cream and tomato based, liberally flamed with cognac - likely the best dish at the table. - Veal Marsala: Tender veal with tomato, pepper, onion. Not the most tradtional presentation, but very flavorful. - Veal Picata: Delicious lemon-butter sauce, simple and scrumptious. - Beef with Marsala and Mushrooms: Heartier version of the veal marsala. - Antipasi for 2 (more like Antipasti for 4/6 it was so huge!) Large platter of marinated mushrooms, boiled-beef in oil and vinegar, olives, herbed feta, and a side plate of salami with parmesan cheese. Delicious~ - Bananas Foster/Tableside - Warm, buttery bananas flamed with rum over vanilla ice cream. Mmmmm - Cherries Jubilee: brandied cherries, with butter, brown sugar, and a wonderful presentation tableside: the server flames a spiral-cut orange peel with brandy...releasing all the volatile oils into the sauce. The cherries are then served with vanilla icecream, and a rich pound-cake. Seriously wonderful, and fun to watch. The table ordered 3 excellent bottles of wine (I recommend red zinfandel or Pinot with most of the dishes...one was a cabernet that did not go well with some of the delicate flavors), and I had 2 cosmos - the cosmos were fantastic...sweetly/tart, no funny hot-pink food coloring, just a GOOD solid, cocktail. We'll most certainly be back. Almost everyone had enough leftovers for another full meal. The only thing that will make Moro even more awesome is when they go smoke-free in early May. Overall our bill came to $540 ($650 with tip...the wine drinkers were responsible for 1/3 of the bill...) but it was an extremely enjoyable 3 hours of bacchenalian bliss.

Here I come to rain on everyone's parade. I had high expectations based on the word of mouth I have heard since I was 16 years old, and then all the stellar yelp reviews. I gave a relative who had not been yet either a gift certificate, and she came back with mediocre comments on the places. I figured she had to have been mistaken so I ventured out to try it myself. She was spot on. I called around 7:30 to see if I needed to make a reservation and they assured me the place was running slow that night. So we headed out. Upon arrival the host said it would take a moment to get the table set. A moment later another man approached asking if we were the non-smoking table... we were the only ones waiting for a table. This threw me off, giving me the impression that the staff was a little dense. There was bread and butter waiting at our table when we arrived. Seeing as this place is praised from fresh homemade Italian, I did not expect the bread to be what it was. If it was home-made you can club me over the head with a bagette. My girlfriend guessed bought this morning fresh from Oakwood, and I will have to say I think it was a spot on guess. Our server came over about 5 minutes later to give us menus and ask if we needed drinks. I asked for the wine menu and recieved it proptely. 10 minutes later he is back to take the drink order. The wine comes quickly, but it takes another 10 minutes for him to come back to take the food order. The menu was a little disapppointing at first glace. it seems as though the focus is on veal. I was pleasantly surprised though because it seems like the menu just focuses on specialties. All of your standard Italian fair is left off as sort of a given that they serve it. When our waiter arrived I asked for something that wasn't on the menu, and he said that they serve it. After that my night looked like it was turning for the better. First out of the kitchen was a salad. It was actually quite good despite the use of a low quality olive oil. It was made table side, and I was quite skeptical that it was going to be terrible based on how much pepper and oil was dumped on this thing. It was good though (you will need to pick out the egg bits if your like me though). Next up came the soup which was the highlight of night for me. Their minestrone is homemade, hearty, and delicious!! The only really star of the night! The entrees didn't take as long as expect to arrive, which was nice. The portion sizes were huge, but the over all execution of the dishes I thought was sub-par. I understand every Italian family cooks differently, but not to this degree. My girlfriend ordered chicken cacciatore, which was very good, the sauce was decent, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The dish lacked capers though, and having had this dish about 500 times I have never seen a preparation without capers. The Gnocchi I order was very much not pleasing. The sauce was rich, and the texture on the gnoochi was decent, but I think someone spilled the salt in it. I didn't notice some much at first but it sort of built the more I ate. By the time I was one my 7th or 8th bite I was overwhelmed by the salt content. I would like to hope that it was just a bad day in the kitchen, but I don't think I will be finding out. They left a pretty harsh lasting impression on me. If you want Italian in this price point, head to Cariera's, Roma Cafe, or even Antonio's.

Moro's was overall one of the best dining experiences we've ever had! From the moment you sit down, the wait staff is attentive whether it's refilling your beverage or clearing a plate off the table. The food was outstanding, to say the least! I had the Alfredo! It was to die for! Not only was the sauce tasty, but the noodles were cooked to perfection and there was enough left over for two lunches! My fiancé had the salmon. That too was delicious and cooked to perfection. With both meals you got soup and salad that was hand tossed at your table. For dessert we had bread pudding which was soaked in jack Daniels overnight. It was served hot and over vanilla ice cream! We wouldn't come here for just any night out, but we will come back for a nicer date soon!

Nice, quiet dinner with very attentive wait staff. Cannelloni was one of the specials! I had to get it as it is never on the menu at the chain Italian eateries. House salad tossed table side. Plenty of bread. A nice Pinot noir. All for less than $40 WITH tip. I left stuffed tighter than my cannelloni.

I had to laugh at Raphie B.'s diss of ruinite Lambrusco. While its easy for a wine snob to dismiss Riunite, they consistently make good quality, inexpensive wines. Not all meals call for a complex wine, sometimes a simple wine is exactly what a meal calls for. Kudos to Moro's for knowing this.

Excellent place to eat! The atmosphere here conjures up fifties fine dining. It is very dimly lit with small table top candles to create intimate dining at its finest. The waiters always dressed in tuxs grooming every last crumb from the table. They have a daily list of specials and run through them verbally after they present you with an oversized menu. The menu speaks of Italian culinary delights and many things are prepared fresh right at your table. The salads are amazing! Fresh crisp lettuce, cici beans, chopped egg, fresh cracked pepper, drizzled with olive oil and vinegar. Simply divine! After your meal they offer coffee and a bowl of fruit and nuts. It is very classy. Sometimes there is a wait to be seated especially during weekends. This place is definitely worth the wait.

Kind of a weird experience. It's not the sort of place that a casual youngish person on her own would usually go for lunch, but I had time to kill and thought I might stumble onto something a little bit transcendent. It's a dark, intimate, old-fashioned place, with candlelight and white tablecloths, waiters in tuxes, and Sinatra songs in the background. I had lentil soup, which was really very good, and a half order of fettucini alfredo, which was absolutely a heart bomb. I made it through about a fifth of it. It tasted okay, but if I'm going to need a triple bypass for dessert I want spectacular. Fruit and nut bowl comes at the end of the meal. I had half an apple, hoping that might be some sort of antedote. All in all I'm prepared to believe this is a super duper place for a special event, ideally one involving grandparents.

I could write pages on Moro's. I've travelled the U.S. extensively and I can say without a doubt Moro's is my favorite restaurant. My family's been eating at Moro's for about 20 years now. We know several of the waiters by name and they are truly a top-notch waitstaff. They treat their customers as the most important thing in their world, from lighting people's cigarettes (yes, Michigan still allows smoking inside restaurants) to providing goodies on the house to their best customers. Tuxedos, table service for salads and most desserts and an impressive array of daily specials recited from memory are all things you can expect to experience each visit. As for food, it's all great. They specialize in veal. Homemade veal canneloni (sp?) is one of my favs. I also love the fettucine alfredo, spaghetti bolognese, salads, minestrone soup, swiss onion soup and of course the GARLIC CHEESE TOAST! Also, the prices are extremely reasonable. My wife and I regularly spend more money at other restaurants for much less of a dinner/experience. We have a lot of fun Moro's stories from over the years but a more recent one comes to mind. My wife and I make it a point to visit Moro's when we are in town (we now live in Chicago). We showed up for an early Saturday dinner about 2 years ago and as soon as we walked in, Dave, one of the many excellent waiters, smiled from the back of the restaurant, came up to greet us and said "I'll have them put your filet on right now" to my wife, instantly recognizing that we were in town and squeezing in a quick Moro's visit. How cool is that? Moro's is southeast Michigan's greatest kept secret. The Ford execs lunch there frequently. No reservations, which in my opinion is perfect for the small restaurant, so prepare to wait a bit, especially on weekend dinners. We waited for almost 2 hours once on a New Year's Eve (obv a very busy night for them) and we'd wait for Moro's every year if we still lived in Detroit! Moro's is THE best.

Moro's is hidden in an older plaza in downtown Allen Park, off of Southfield Freeway. A hole-in-the-wall without the overcompensating spunk, Moro's doesn't have much of an immediate aesthetic draw. It truly is the service and the food that reel you in. I must admit, there's no way in Hell I would considered dining here had I not overheard a friend's recommendation. I'm sure glad I did, though! I will no longer disregard these seemingly regulars-only, old school spots. We didn't have a reservation (I don't think they take them), and I was surprised to see how packed the place was at 8pm, mid-week. The host sat us right away, however, and the experience brightened from there. Spaghetti sauce isn't my favorite, though we opted to split the Veal Mozzarella Marinara and the Fettuccine Pesto. Both were exquisite. Slightly spicier than I would have imagined, I was pleasantly surprised with the veal fish. As a pesto fan, it's hard to get any pesto to disagree with my belly. And this one was no exception. It was great. The flaming Banana Tropicale was incredible. The gentleman at a nearby table ordered it, and I had to see whether the hype was right. Not only was the display spectacular, but I was practically drooling even after my first bite. The service was fairly attentive, though I could tell our younger waiter was feeling a bit overwhelmed. I was happy to take in the old-school, dim atmosphere and wait my turn, though. When we were taken care of, the table was appropriately decrumbed and server knew intricate details about each menu item. I'd definitely recommend Moro's to any locals or visitors to the downriver area.

I read the other reviews then decided to try Moro's (again). I hadn't been there for about 10 years. Service was good. Prices are as reported by others -- $$-$$$. Serving sizes are large & soup, salad & fruit w/ nuts all come with the entrees. What I didn't like was the quality of the pasta. It was over cooked (mushy). I like mine a little al-dente. The salad was prepared table side, but the lettuce seemed wilted or too wet (mushy). So then we decided to try the bananas foster-like desert. It was ok, but they skimp on the bananas. I couldn't figure that out. Free nuts, oranges & apples brought to the table after dinner, but one small thinly sliced banana in a desert you pay for. I'd go again, but would order differently. BTW, I went on a Sunday afternoon, so it wasn't busy and no excuses for over cooked pasta.

I reckon I ought to change my profile name to "Meh". I just keep having all of these 'meh-moments'. Today was another. Crap. I've been to Moro's in the past while visiting the D, and I thought it was okay. I had never been for lunch until today. A friend of mine was in from Milwaukee and I told her about Moro's and we decided to meet there. The service was fine and not too intrusive. The wine by the glass was okay, too, but the wine glasses were cheap (think of the kind of wine glass you might get if you dared to order wine at a dive bar)... After hearing the specials my friend opted for the whitefish and I decided to 'go for it' and order one of the regular menu staples--sauteed chicken livers and onions, which I had never had at Moro's in the past. Yum, said my mouth when I placed my order.. The salad that accompanied our mains was good---fresh, not too heavy on the dressing, and prepared table-side with a bit of hokey flourish. My only concern/disappointment was that the olive oil was of a low quality. Can't say much about the cold, stale bread that was served except, "Avoid at all costs." My friend's order of whitefish looked okay/pretty, but the fish was taste-free (hey, at least it wasn't overcooked). Her sides of potatoes and green beans were nicely prepared and presented. My chicken liver dish, however, well, however, well, however, well, it was gross. In more ways than one. First of all, don't ever overcook a piece of liver, no matter what type of animal it comes from. These were definitely overcooked. Big time. And served on a huge bed of pasta that was so warm/hot that it kept on cooking the chicken livers for the entire lunch. But the biggest sin from the kitchen was that the chicken livers were served in a SWEET sauce. What the?? Don't offer me sauteed chicken livers and onions without first informing me that, if I do decide to order them, they will be served in a sweet sauce! Yechhh! Eewwwww! Over pasta, over rice, over anything. And this was not just any sweet sauce. This was cloyingly sweet. Without any complexity/depth. Just sweet. Might as well have opened a bottle of honey and drizzled it all over everything. The after-dinner plate of fresh fruit and nuts is always a nice touch at Moro's, but please Sr. Chef, take a look at what else is coming out of your kitchen of late. I wish there was a 2.5 star rating...

While visiting Dearborn, My wife and I were looking for a place to have dinner that would not be a disappointment. So I hit yelp on my phone, and this place was close and had GREAT reviews, so I thought we'd give it a try. 3 other couples were ahead of us, and we only had about a 10 minute wait. We both ordered the filet mignon, which was awesome. It came covered in gravy which I thought was odd, but it was Delicious! One of the best filet's I've ever had, and was very tender. The green beans were some of the best I've ever had too, cooked with chopped bits of garlic. We did not have room for dessert, but they brought a basket of apples, oranges, and nuts to the table followed by watermelon slices. A nice touch to say the least! Service was good and they were very busy. Our next trip east will probably be rearranged to include dinner at Moro's as we can't wait to come back!

The best fine Italian dining in Mi... period!! I usually go on special occasions as to wow whomever I'm dining with. They serve the standard dishes like spaghetti bolognese, and veal marsala, both of which are familiar and refreshingly new at the same time. And some traditional authentic dishes as well like beef rossini, which is prime beef tenderloin with pate foie gras. Very delicious! Moro's has an appetizer tray that makes you feel like your eating at a trattoria in Rome. It's called antipasto Renee which is marinated beef, marinated mushrooms, feta cheese, shrimp, 2 types of olives, peppers, and tomatoes. You can order them separately but I feel it's best to order the tray so you can taste them all. The clam chowder is some of the best I've ever had and is something Moro's is famous for. Some of the dinner service menu items, and all salad and desserts are served table side. The salad is prepared and tossed right at your table side which is something you just don't find anymore. The flambee... which you MUST get even if your stuffed, is prepared and fired up at your table as well. It's really interesting and fascinating to watch the servers prepare the flambee. The server peels the orange in a spiral, then pours brandy down the peel and lights it on fire. I always get the bananas foster flambee, but they also have cherry, and Macedonian which has cherries, bananas, and peaches. The prices are a very decent, a little on the high end, as is expected from a fine restaurant, but I feel it's well worth it because you get huge portions along with impeccable service. Everything at Moro's works together so well. The food, the wait staff in tux's, the dim atmosphere, just perfect. The interior doesn't have the cheesy red checker decor, instead it's modern, and very classy. It's not trendy at all... YET, and is one of the last MI secrets. Thankfully, being featured on food network spotlighting their famous flambee didn't push the owners to go corporate. Moro's is perfect for that special intimate dinner or dinner out with the family and friends.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
